Washington Asked Judge Shelby to Freeze Utah's Kalshi Prosecutions. He Scheduled a Meeting for Next Friday
The United States and the CFTC filed for a restraining order on Thursday that would stop Utah's criminal and civil cases against Kalshi and its founders. In Arizona a judge granted the same request within a day. Robert Shelby set a status conference for November 6, and his own August ruling reads the statute in a way that the CFTC's pending swap rule does not get around.
