TrueEdge Odds Update, October 28 — Nothing New Shipped, So Here Is What the $19.99 Exchange Add-On Is Actually Worth Against Outlier and OddsShopper
No change has reached every TrueEdge surface since the October 25 deploy, and we are not going to dress that up. A quiet stretch is a good moment to price the one part of the product the week's exchange news makes relevant. Outlier and OddsShopper prices were read today; OddsJam, Unabated and DarkHorse are "not verified today.

Disclosure: TrueEdge Wire and TrueEdge Odds have the same owner. This is first-party advocacy, not independent testing. Every TrueEdge fact below describes what is deployed and live on every TrueEdge surface today, taken from our own deployment record. Every competitor price was read from that vendor's own page on October 28, 2026, and each page is linked. Where we could not read a price, we say so.
Nothing shipped. Since the October 26 update, no new change has reached every running TrueEdge surface: the newest commit that the web build, the API and the odds collector all contain is the same one it was two days ago. The last deploy pin was October 25. Under the rule this column follows, that means there is nothing to report in item 1, and we are not going to promote a configuration change into a feature to fill the space.
So this edition does something more useful with the slot. The week's prediction-market news, from the NBA naming preferred exchanges to Kalshi capping deposits for 18-to-20-year-olds, keeps raising the same practical question for anyone using an odds screen. Do you need exchange prices next to the sportsbooks, and what does that cost on each tool?
1. What shipped since October 26: nothing a subscriber can see
Zero merged pull requests and zero subscriber-facing commits are live since the last piece. The October 26 column covered the batch that landed with the October 25 deploy: NBA props from DraftKings, Kalshi and bet365, a longshot-adjusted second edge on +EV rows, and closing line value against a sharp no-vig close. Those are still the newest things in the product. If you read that piece, you are current.
2. The exchange add-on is $19.99, and here is what it buys
On Base, exchange access is a $19.99 monthly add-on, which the pricing page calls the Order Book add-on. On Live it is included. It does two things. It puts exchange legs into the feed alongside the sportsbooks, so an exchange price can be one side of an arbitrage or a middle, or the price a +EV row points you to. It also opens the exchange venues' order books. The live pricing page, read today, names four exchanges: Kalshi, Polymarket, Novig and ProphetX.
One limit has to be stated plainly. Depth at each order-book level is still marked "coming soon" in our own plan copy. Today the add-on shows you the venues' books but does not show the size sitting at each price, so it cannot yet tell you how much of a $500 order a thin Kalshi market will fill at the quoted number. That is the single most useful thing an exchange screen can do, and we do not do it yet.
3. Who the add-on is for
It is for a bettor who already has a funded exchange account and bets both sides of the same game across venues. An exchange charges a fee rather than building a margin into both sides of the price, so its numbers can sit at a different point from any sportsbook's. When an exchange price disagrees with a sportsbook's, the gap is where a locked arbitrage or a middle shows up, and a screen without exchange legs never sees it. For that bettor, the test of the $19.99 is simple: did the exchange side make up one leg of a bet you would otherwise have missed at least once a month?
It is not for an 18-to-20-year-old whom Kalshi now limits to $2,500 of deposits a month (we worked through what that cap means on Tuesday). Nor is it for anyone in a state where they have no exchange access at all. Remember too that the NBA's new exchange deal promises "restrictions on permissible markets," so some exchange prop markets may thin out this season.
4. What Base and Live cost, unchanged
TrueEdge (Base) is $79.99 billed monthly, or $63.99 a month billed yearly: $767.90 a year. Adding exchange access takes Base to $99.98 a month on monthly billing. Base covers the +EV, arbitrage, middles and low-hold feeds, every major sport including alternates and player props, line-movement history, saved filters, alerts in-app, on Discord or to your own webhook, the hedge finder, the state filter, manual bet tracking scored for CLV and ROI, and the promo optimizer.
TrueEdge Live is $299.99 billed monthly, or $239.99 billed yearly: $2,879.90 a year, with exchange access included. It adds the full odds board, in-play prices, real-time streaming, a choice of de-vig method, one-click betslip links, sharp books including Pinnacle and Circa, regional books, automatic bet import and phone push alerts. There is one 7-day free trial per account. VIP is sold by contact with no published price. The pricing page states no sportsbook count, so we do not either.
5. Outlier: the cheapest way into a +EV feed, no exchange listed
Outlier Premium is $19.99 a month, Premium+ $29.99 and Pro + React Live $79.99, each "Billed upfront annually," read today on Outlier's plans section. Premium lists a Positive EV Power Feed, sharp-book odds, middles, an arbitrage feed, real-time alerts and "Thousands of Props & Games." The plan lists do not name an exchange, which does not prove Outlier carries none; it means we cannot claim it does. Multiplied out, Premium is about $240 a year against our $767.90 for annual Base. That arithmetic is ours, because Outlier's page does not print the upfront total. Monthly-billed prices did not render today.
6. OddsShopper: closest to Base on monthly billing, ahead on published coverage
OddsShopper Core is $99.95 a month and Pro $149.95, with a 7-day trial, read today on OddsShopper's subscribe page. On monthly billing, Base plus the exchange add-on is $99.98, three cents more than Core. That is the cleanest like-for-like number in this piece, with one caveat: the per-plan checkmarks did not render, so we cannot say which of OddsShopper's listed features (custom de-vigging, in-game EV, in-game and pre-game arbitrage, a liquidity tool) start at Core rather than Pro. Annual billing is labelled "Save 17%" but showed no price.
OddsJam, Unabated and DarkHorse: not verified today. OddsJam's subscribe page returned HTTP 403. Unabated's and DarkHorse's pages loaded only a title. We print no figure for any of them, and you should not trust a figure for them from a review site either.
7. Where the competitors are better
Coverage you can count. OddsShopper publishes "110+ sportsbooks" and "40+ leagues." We publish four named exchanges and no sportsbook count. A buyer comparing coverage can check their claim against their own state's books; ours they have to take on trust.
Live tooling at a lower price. OddsShopper lists in-game EV and in-game arbitrage at no more than $149.95 a month. In-play prices on TrueEdge need the $299.99 Live plan.
Entry price. Outlier's annual Premium covers the core opportunity feeds for under a third of our annual Base.
The order book. Selling order-book access before depth is shown is a weaker offer than it sounds. Until the depth view ships, an exchange trader is still checking the venue itself for size.
Track record and pace. We have no independent results showing anyone profits from TrueEdge numbers. This is also the second update in a row where the honest answer about the last stretch is "nothing new," with work waiting on deploys. The longer-established tools have years of users testing them.
8. The case for staying where you are
The strongest argument for not switching is that the exchange layer does not change the core math. Line shopping, as the Pinnacle video above explains, is most of the edge for most bettors, and every tool here does it. An Outlier Premium subscriber who bets sportsbook +EV and has no exchange account gains nothing from our add-on and pays roughly three times as much for Base. An OddsShopper Pro subscriber who bets in-game should stay too. Live betting is where their published price undercuts ours by half.
We think that argument holds for most people. It stops holding for a bettor who already trades on Kalshi or Novig and wants exchange prices sitting in the same arbitrage and middles feeds as the sportsbooks, without paying for an in-play plan to get them. For that bettor, Base with the add-on at $99.98 a month is the reason to run the 7-day trial. Anyone else should wait for a week when we have shipped something.
